I would like to introduce you to the next knit genius to come out of the Central Saint Martins fashion machine…Shao-yen Chen. He graduated from the BA fashion knitwear course at CSM back in 2008 and went straight onto the masters. The pictures below are of his beautiful BA collection which featured felted knitting merging into fabrics. He will be presenting his MA collection this sunday so keep a look out for his garments….

Here is a little sneak peak of what we might see from his MA collection this weekend! I’m excited already…

Ooh, I wish my studio looked like that. I want a big KNIT sign on my wall!
What wonderful things he has made already… Goodness me! I can’t wait to see what else he comes up with. It’s inspired me to try out some more felting. It always worries me a little as it’s so unpredictable, but it’s worth it. I love how he combined it with the roving for the plaits! Wonderful.
