This is a bit of a follow up from my last post. This is Shao-Yen Chen’s MA graduate collection as shown on Sunday night. It’s absolutely beautiful and I love all these irregular shapes made from built up fringing. As always I have a mini interview….

I am inspired by HUMAN BODY, MOVEMENT, NATURE, LANDSCAPE.
I have interned for ALEXANDER MCQUEEN, HUSSEIN CHALAYAN, CLAIR TOUGH.
I love London because OF ITS CONTRASTING CHARACTERS IN CULTURE AND ART.

My experience of Central Saint Martins has been TOO LONG. I NEED A BREAK.
Fashion is SO FAST THAT I NEVER CATCH UP.
In five years time I HOPE TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO PRESENT MY OWN SHOW.

Love is GOOD.
Cultural influences EVERYTHING.
Fashion can sometimes BE VERY BORING.
My best moment so far IS TO SHOW MY MA COLLECTION IN FASHION WEEK.

Brilliant follow up! It reminds me a bit of the Viktor and Rolf cutaway tulle dresses. They have such fabulous textures – like owls or something!

I just looked at these pieces today. Great examples of concrete structure using soft materials.

This was, definitely, one of the most stunning collections of the last Central Saint Martins show! All of them were really amazing, though.
